About the Author

Christopher Turner is a new children’s author based in Somerset, England, and the creator of The Garden Grump. He lives with his family among rolling hills, fields and woodland.

He wrote The Garden Grump for his young daughter, Eve - who approves every character before they're allowed in the book - and for Michelle, who keeps the whole garden growing. The aspiration for the book lives all around him - in the garden, in his family, and in the magical connection that comes from sharing a story.

The garden in The Garden Grump is his own. The path, the gate, the roses who think rather a lot of themselves - all real, all just outside his door. The robins, the hedgehogs and even an owl come visiting. The neighbours are real too.

The Garden Grump began the old-fashioned way, with pen to pad. The words came first, then his own sketches of the garden and everyone in it. Hundreds of hours followed, experimenting with the latest creative tools to bring The Garden to life, just as he had pictured it.

When he isn't writing, he's in the garden. Being watched, disapprovingly, by a flower. A Daisy.
